I'm documenting a training right now here in Tagaytay. The participants are in their workshop groups, so I've got nothing else to do but surf the net, and well, blog. For a change! Yes, I do miss blogging.
Anyway, I finally got the chance to do some blog rolling. It seems that everyone is still reeling from that momentous Obama win. Despite my skepticism, I have to admit that I got carried away myself. Who wouldn't? That huge crowd I saw on TV, all that weeping and cheering. And now, reading first hand accounts from blogs. I couldn't help but be teary-eyed for a moment there. I almost believed it was my president who won. Only it wasn't, and I'm still skeptical about elections. That's what happens if you're born in a country like the Philippines where elections are nothing but a nightmarish farce. In fact, I was truly surprised that many of my favorite musicians were overly and openly supportive of Obama right from the start. I was like, WHAT?! It was incomprehensible for me at first. But I guess, unlike most people here, they still have confidence in their democratic processes.
It's not hard though to become hopeful of Obama. Especially now that my mom is in the US. I, more than ever, need to be hopeful. For our own sake. Yes, it's that selfish. A progressive America is beneficial to us. And maybe to many other Filipinos too. So I'm keeping my fngers crossed.
At least I'm not thinking of anti Obama slogans yet.

Yes, let's be hopeful. Am a lil bit apprehensive tho 'bout so many talks going the rounds these days that the red necks and other KKKs might carry out another plot for the new M.L.King. Florida is also a southern state and some incidents happened a few years ago to some Pinoys here according to my brod. A Filipino family from Canada who came to settle here in Florida woke up in the middle of the night due to a commotion just to find a burning cross planted on their frontyard.
That's really scary.
Yes, it's scary because the Neo Cons are still in business. Remember those skin -heads caught with murder in their minds ?
